What this site is
Banff City Guide is an independent comparison guide. We are not a tour operator, not a ticket seller, and not connected to Parks Canada, the Town of Banff, any hotel or any booking platform. Every booking made through this site happens on the operator's own page; we research the options and compare them so the decision takes minutes instead of evenings.
The site covers the town of Banff and the park around it: the gondola and the mountain summits, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, the Icefields Parkway, the winter season, and the practical layer of getting here, getting around and paying for it all. We do not operate or personally conduct any tour, and we do not sell tickets: every booking happens on the operator's or the ticket office's own website.
Where the facts come from
Prices, opening hours and rules are read from the official sources: parks.canada.ca for park admission, the Cave and Basin, the Banff Park Museum and the Upper Hot Springs; the attractions' own sites for the gondola, the lake cruise and the Columbia Icefield; roamtransit.com and banff.ca for buses and parking; and the destination organisation's own pages for what is open when. Where an official page does not state a figure, we print that it is not stated rather than filling the gap. Tour and ticket prices on the comparison cards are the live listing figures on GetYourGuide and Viator, in US dollars as listed, with the checking date on the page.
Official gate prices are shown in Canadian dollars first, the currency you actually pay at the window.
How often facts are re-checked
Figures are re-checked on a quarterly schedule. Each page carries the quarter its figures were current for, and the comparison tables state where each number came from. Seasons and schedules in a national park change more often than a quarter, so the official link is always printed beside the fact: check the operator's own calendar before you commit a day to it.
How the site earns
The site earns commissions from GetYourGuide, Viator and Stay22 when a reader books through a link on a card or in a hotel panel. That costs the reader nothing extra and never changes the price. The official ticket-office links in the comparison tables are plain, untracked links on purpose: if the park gate is the better buy, the table should be able to say so.
